Ranal Group on GM Design Initiative
Auburn Hills, MI. - Ranal Group, Inc. proudly announces being selected by General Motors to its 2008-2011 Processing and Design Initiative. As of April 9th 2008, Ranal is a Global strategic partner with GM, focused on executing world class Manufacturing Systems.
Prior to this selection process, GM had three firms providing processing and eight firms providing engineering services. GM wanted to trim the number to fewer but better group of engineering partners in this new Design Initiative. They wanted the same company to provide both processing and design services. GM evaluated eleven companies in order to select six direct suppliers to GM. The selection process was very competitive and the companies being evaluated had to satisfy quality, experience and pricing objectives among many others set up by GM Manufacturing and Purchasing. In their final decision, GM dropped three out of the original eight and added ONLY one new company to the list. Ranal had the distinction to be that new kid on the block!
Ranal will now get the opportunity to work in concert with GM to develop cutting edge Manufacturing Processes and Tool Designs.
